Turning The Tide of Struggle to Strength

Let’s get in some chit chat today, indulge with me will you?  We all have that inner struggle, the kind that we have labeled for ourselves. It makes us bitter, it pushes us on our knees yet we dare not talk about it in public.
In my closet time with the Lord ,I bumped into 1st Samuel 1:12-14 It so happened that as she continued in prayer before God, Eli was watching her closely. Hannah was praying in her heart, silently. Her lips moved, but no sound was heard. Eli jumped to the conclusion that she was drunk.

We are all familiar with Hannah’s story, if not allow me to bring you up to speed.  Hannah was barren woman who faced ridicule and mockery from her Husband’s first wife.  The husband was always in favor of Hannah but she wanted a child so she went to the temple to pour out her soul.

How amazing that some of the most silent prayers are the most heartfelt ! God simply hears the cry of our hearts even the mouth is not moving!

One thing about struggles, they confront our future, refer to our past and blind the present.  The good news is that we have Victory through Jesus, he endured so that we could be victorious.

You see, Eli the priest couldn’t relate with Hannah, even after observation he concluded she was drunk. Not everyone will understand why you have to bubble up alone but God is always listening while your heart speaks for you.

Ephesians 3:20  MSG  God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.

The point is, there are things that we deeply struggle with, but it is through the Holy Spirit that we overcome. God is very faithful, he knows the depth of our hearts and chooses to love us the same. His Love towards us is boundless.

What amazes me about God’s Love is that it is constant. It overlooks everything we could ever do, think or imagine.  I have this crazy illusion that when God created us in his image, we took His breath away! Literally, No that is not a pick line that is what Genesis 2:7 says .

Sometimes it is hard to talk about God in a way that exposes your vulnerability.  His Love defies any human opinion, because in Him you can never lose . Hannah did not mind the fact that she sounded drunk, she did not even explain why she was praying ! she let her heart take the pleasure in interceding for her .

The disciples probably saw a coward in Peter for betraying Jesus, but Jesus saw a leader. Out of a personal mistake and struggle, Jesus could see Peter’s heart.  Talk about the short man Zaccheous , let’s call him “Sonko” , Jesus knew him beyond his shortcomings , out of a tax collector a philanthropist was made . Mary Magdalene is another classic example; out of a prostitute a worshiper was unveiled.

Could it be the inward struggle is sometimes the Best Prop God is willing to use in our deliverance?. God knows your heartbeat , don’t beat yourself , He can see far beyond Yourself .  2 COR 2:19  "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."
